Yesterday, the Legislature failed to override the Governor's veto of H.708 (the Burlington Just Cause Charter Change). The full text of the bill can be found here. The ending of the National Emergency related to COVID-19 DID NOT remove the 30 day requirement for 30 day nonpayment of rent notices. That particular section of the FEDERAL law did not have a sunset provision. Please continue to follow the 30 day termination notice requirements for nonpayment of rent situations.
